Job Description
Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the group’s long-term goals. Provide financial insights to support investment decisions and business growth.
- Lead restructuring of shareholding/capital structure of Otsuka’s subsidiaries in OIAA region for OSG to become Otsuka’s holding company in Asia.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling of OSG and its subsidiaries. Analyze financial performance and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
- Streamline the annual and quarterly forecasting/closing process by leveraging IT solutions and centralizing at an OIAA level.
- Drive improvements in reporting and analytics (enhancements in management deck, analysis of sales providing deeper insights into each driver) to improve budget and forecast accuracy of OSG and its subsidiaries.
- Seek opportunities to automate & improve financial reporting, forecasting, and month-end close processes.
Group Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely OSG standalone and subsidiary’s financial statements. Maintain compliance with IFRS and other relevant regulations.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Manage OSG and group cash flow, banking relationships, and funding strategies. Optimize capital allocation and working capital across entities.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Establish internal controls and risk management frameworks. Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements in Singapore and other jurisdictions where the group operates.
- Support and facilitate communication between Otsuka Singapore and Otsuka’s operating companies in the OIAA region regarding ongoing projects, challenges, and deliverables, including but not limited to implementation, roll-out, setting up the day-to-day operation of Decision Making Authority Rules (DMAR).
Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with parent company, subsidiaries, external auditors, tax advisors, regulatory bodies, and investors. Prepare board reports and present financial updates to stakeholders.
- Work with OPC Business Finance Department and OPC OIAA Business Strategy Department to create Otsuka Singapore consolidated management reports for presentations to key management at Otsuka Singapore and parent company in Japan.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Support the annual planning process and development of the annual operating plan; working closely with the GM and the leadership team to identify and develop key strategic initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, finance, accounting, or related field from a leading university.
- Over 15 years’ experience in corporate finance, FP&A and statutory accounting in pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
- Work experience in a holding company or multi-entity environment.
- Track record in audit coordination, statutory filings, and external auditor engagement.
- Proven leadership in consolidated financial planning / analyzing and group‑level budgeting across multiple subsidiaries.
- Experience preparing board-level materials and presenting to executive leadership, including materials in Japanese as required for communication with the parent company.
- Deep knowledge of cost accounting methodologies, including standard costing, variance analysis, and activity‑based costing, applied in manufacturing environments.
- Strong expertise in statutory and management accounting, including inventory, lease accounting, and intercompany transactions.
- Proven track record leading ERP migrations from legacy systems to modern S/4‑style platforms, covering requirements definition, system development coordination, testing, and post‑go‑live stabilization.
- Practical expertise using ERP platforms, RPA, and automation to streamline budgeting, forecasting, and month‑end close processes, improving accuracy and cycle time.
