System Engineering Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in Unix/Linux systems and Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing enterprise infrastructure environments, supporting hybrid cloud platforms, and ensuring operational stability, security, and performance across multiple systems.

This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise in Azure resource management, infrastructure monitoring, security compliance, and automation, with the ability to work closely with regional and global teams to deliver reliable and scalable infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support enterprise Azure cloud infrastructure across multiple environments.

• Provision and maintain Azure Virtual Machines (Linux and Windows) including configuration of storage accounts, virtual networks, and associated infrastructure services.

• Monitor infrastructure performance and health using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and alerting frameworks to proactively detect and resolve issues.

• Develop and maintain Data Collection Rules (DCR) for routing security and performance logs into Log Analytics workspaces.

• Ensure configuration management and operational readiness across environments with diverse operating systems and infrastructure setups.

• Collaborate with internal engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot VM performance issues, logging problems, and backup configurations.

• Participate in onboarding and configuring new systems to ensure security policies and compliance requirements are met.

• Support patching and system updates using Azure Update Management and internal operational tools.

• Strengthen cloud security posture by implementing and managing Microsoft Defender for Servers and security monitoring integrations.

• Contribute to infrastructure improvement initiatives and support operational best practices for cloud and hybrid environments.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of IT infrastructure experience, including Unix/Linux systems administration and cloud infrastructure management.

• 4+ years of experience working with cloud platforms, primarily Microsoft Azure, with working knowledge of AWS.

• Strong expertise managing Linux-based enterprise environments, including:

  • RHEL

  • SLES

  • CentOS

  • Oracle Linux

  • Ubuntu

  • Solaris

  • AIX

• Experience working with Azure infrastructure services, including:

  • Azure Resource Manager (ARM)

  • Virtual Networks and Load Balancers

  • Hybrid connectivity (VPN / ExpressRoute)

  • Network Security Groups (NSG)

• Experience with cloud monitoring and optimization, including:

  • Azure Monitor

  • Log Analytics

  • Performance tuning and cost optimization

• Strong knowledge of cloud security and compliance, including:

  • Microsoft Defender / Azure Defender

  • Azure Security Center

  • Key Vault

  • RBAC and firewall configurations

• Familiarity with enterprise backup solutions, particularly Veritas NetBackup.

• Experience with clustering technologies, including:

  • Veritas Cluster Server

  • RHEL Pacemaker Cluster

  • Sun Cluster

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including:

  • TCP/IP

  • DNS

  • Subnetting

  • Route tables

  • Peering and hybrid networking concepts

• Experience with automation using Bash scripting for infrastructure management and operational tasks.

Certifications (Preferred)

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)

• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate (or currently pursuing)

• Solaris Certification

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
