Job Description
1. Job Responsibilities
1) General
・Promoting the sales of Nippon Steel’s high-end prodtcts regarding civil engineering fields as chief manager in civil construction team in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, etc.
・Establish the strategy of the expansion for Nippon Steel’s high-end products in ASEAN collaborated with Marketing Team in Singapore, and Japan
・Make the Road-Map and Action Plan for yearly, and next mid-term (3-5 years)
・Manage and Cultivate civil junior staffs in office to improve their technical & sales performance
2) Technical Marketing, Establishment of technical circumstances
・Search the technical trends for Civil Engineering in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, etc.
・Find and Seek the opportunity of promoting for Nippon Steel’s high-end material/method from future technical trends/perspective (e.g. Carbon Neutral, etc)
・Make and Management of Strategy for promoting Nippon Steel’s high-end material/method according to the technical trends in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines
・Proceed Co-Research with counterparts such as local University, consultants, contractors and traders to evaluate our solutions in ASEAN
(Structural Experiment, Analysis, Actual Field test, supplemental application, etc)
・Have the technical presentation/discussion in Public Academic Organization, and submit technical journal paper collaborated with HQ, and research center in Japan
・Discussion with Government Organization (Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, etc) to promote the activities as Japanese new/high technologies.
3) Actual Proceeding to specify and get order our material/method
・Penetration for our new/high-end solutions in ASEAN
・Development on local potential projects and clients in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, etc.
・Technical proposal and technical support to potential clients (Consultant, Main-Contractor, Sub-Contractor, etc), How to design, apply and use, get the advantages, etc
・Co-works collaborated with local counterparts for local projects
・Establish the supply-chain with Japanese distributor and Local clients in local market collaborated with Marketing team
2. Job Duties
・Create the idea/solutions to solve our marketing/technical issue in local market (Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines), lead the civil team and get the achievement as chief civil engineer
・Seek the potential projects (search the projects information)
・Development on potential clients (Visiting and Having meeting, Explanation of our new/high-end material/method and any advantages).
・Periodical meeting/technical update, and Establish/Keep the good relationship with potential clients
・Technical support for potential clients, especially ERSS construction, river revetment, port and marine, Road/Bridge projects
・Make the technical documents to explain our solutions/proposal in detail
・Technical Judgement for apply/proposal as most suitable solutions by using Nippon Steel’s material/method in actual projects
・Visit to construction site for technical supervision to apply our new/high-end solutions
・Make the technical experiment, analysis, field test plan, and proceed them as chief engineer
・Gather the technical data from actual construction site, and feedback to HQ, and research center(JPN)
・Provide technical guidance for material fabrication and construction.
・Have the periodical meeting with HQ(JPN), and ASEAN-HQ(Bangkok)to report and discuss achievements and challenges in ASSEN countries.
・Report business situation by creating weekly report, bimonthly report, etc.
・Have the meeting with Research Center in Japan to discuss the technical evaluation (material, construction application, as well)
・Have Business trip to Malaysia, Philippines, Japan, etc.
・Educate junior local staffs (civil engineer), and take care/ support as daily
・Organize the periodical meeting with Indonesia, Viet Nam and Cina office to improve technical skills and job performing ability by sharing activity/technical information and discussing countermeasures for challenges
3. Skills and Qualifications
・Work experience of minimum 12 years in the field of Civil and Geotechnical engineering.
・Having enough knowledge, experience and good understanding of Civil and Geotechnical engineering.
・Having the technical performance to solve the actual construction site issue so that can do the technical Judgements and guidance especially ERSS application
・In addition, it is required that have the earthquake and prevention of disaster engineering knowledge, experience to develop new solutions.
・Having the knowledge of design code in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, European countries, USA and Japan
・Having the technical skills for structural design[rn1] (incl. Auto CAD drawing) and fabrication/construction guidance especially retaining wall structures.
・Having the technical knowledge of seismic phenomena of ground-structure while coming earthquake, and have the idea of countermeasure to mitigate the damage of disaster, especially by applying steel material/method.
・Having technical knowledge of flood control / mitigation method / port and habour facilities by applying steel material/method, including countermeasure against Tsunami after earthquake.
・Familiar with Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines market situation, and have connection in actual players
・Can promote not only technical contents but also marketing/sales contents
・Having the mind of cost reduction, market price, and our company profit
・Can report periodically and effectively (Report, Inform/Share, and Consult as team works)
・Ability to understand our company culture and to adopt to it
・Good communication skills with clients and colleagues (including Japanese persons)
