Job Description

The Tender Engineer is responsible for supporting both tender preparation and technical engineering activities for Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) and Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) projects. This role works closely with tender, design, project, and procurement teams to ensure accurate cost estimation, technical compliance, and smooth transition from tender award to project execution.

The engineer is involved from tender enquiry and proposal development through to technical coordination and post-award support, with a strong focus on accuracy, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing ACMV/AGV tender submissions, including cost estimates, technical proposals, and supporting documentation
  • Review tender specifications, drawings, and client requirements to ensure technical compliance
  • Prepare bill of quantities, cost breakdowns, and pricing summaries for ACMV/AGV works
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and technical data
  • Support value engineering studies and alternative proposals during tender stage
  • Participate in tender clarification meetings and assist in responding to client queries
  • Provide technical support during project handover and execution stages
  • Assist in preparation of technical submissions, shop drawings, and method statements
  • Coordinate with project and site teams to resolve technical issues during implementation
  • Maintain proper tender and technical documentation in accordance with company procedures

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related disciplines
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in ACMV/AGV tendering and/or technical engineering roles
  • Good understanding of ACMV/AGV systems, specifications, and industry standards
  • Ability to interpret tender documents, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with estimation or costing tools is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and coordination skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Demonstrates effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
