Database Administrator Job Responsibilities and Skills:

Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
Develop processes for optimizing database security.
Set and maintain database standards.
Performance tuning of database systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
Perform installation, patching, upgrading, troubleshooting for the database and database infrastructure
Support and perform database account management and periodic user account review
Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
Provide production database support be available for on-call support as needed.
Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
Two to three years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field
Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments
Extensive experience with database technologies (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with cloud services (Microsoft Azure) a plus
