Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitor, interpret and advise on evolving prudential guidance from the MAS and SFC.
- Translate regulatory requirements into actionable policies, procedures and controls across front office, finance, risk and reporting teams.
- Support capital adequacy and stress testing activities (ICAAP / CCAR / equivalent), including impact analysis, methodology development, documentation and governance.
- Oversee risk-weighted assets (RWA) calculation methodologies (credit risk, market risk, operational risk), including model validation inputs and RWA reconciliation processes.
- Support liquidity risk management and LCR/NSFR calculations, monitoring, and reporting.
- Prepare and review regulatory returns, disclosures and management packs related to Basel metrics. (CET1, Tier 1, total capital, RWA, leverage ratio, LCR, NSFR), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on Basel III requirements and implications for business activities.
- Support internal and external audit reviews of Basel-related processes and controls.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation (methodologies, policies, model inventories, control testing) to satisfy governance, audit and regulatory expectations.
Requirements:
- 4–8+ years’ experience in banking regulation, regulatory reporting, capital or liquidity management, or related roles within a financial institution, consultancy, or regulator.
- Practical experience implementing or advising on Basel III frameworks, including capital adequacy, RWA methodologies, leverage ratio, LCR/NSFR.
- Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles as they interact with regulatory capital and reporting.
- Experience working with regulatory submissions, supervisory engagements, and remediation projects.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to explain technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with automation of regulatory reporting and data lineage projects.
- Prior knowledge in the HK SFC’s Financial Resources Rules would be a plus but not mandatory.
