Overview:
At IMBA, imagination leads the stage, but discipline runs the show.
The Finance Manager anchors the organisation with financial rigour, operational control, and commercial clarity. This role ensures our venue operates on strong governance foundations while enabling ambitious programming and sustainable growth.
You will safeguard accuracy, accountability, and performance across every transaction that powers the IMBA experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Full-Set Accounting & Reporting
- Manage full set of accounts, including GL, AP, AR, and month-end closing
- Prepare monthly management accounts with variance explanations
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules
- Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors
2. Revenue & Reconciliation
- Oversee daily and weekly sales reconciliation (ticketing, POS, event settlements)
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of revenue reporting
- Monitor receivables and follow up on overdue accounts
- Issue monthly statements of accounts to customers
3. Accounts Payable & Cost Control
- Review supplier invoices and ensure timely payment processing
- Reconcile supplier statements
- Monitor operational expenses and flag cost anomalies
4. Compliance & Tax
- Prepare GST submissions and support tax compliance processes
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping in line with statutory requirements
- Support annual audit process
5. Budget & Performance Support
- Track budget vs actual performance
- Prepare weekly sales and performance dashboards for operations
- Support management with financial data for event/programme evaluation
6. Process & Controls
- Maintain internal control processes
- Propose workflow improvements where gaps are identified
- Ensure financial documentation is properly filed and traceable
Preferred Attributes:
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4–6 years of experience handling full sets of accounts
- Experience in venue operations, events, F&B, retail, or hospitality preferred
- Strong GST knowledge and Singapore compliance familiarity.
- Strong Excel skills
- Proficiency in accounting and Microsoft Office softwares (Prior experience in Xero. Quickbook is a plus).
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
