PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER – System Level Test FTR (First Time Right) Owner

THE PERSON:

We are looking for someone with strong technical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, as well as demonstrating the characteristic of an independent and resourceful individual.
The applicant must have a proficient understanding of x86 CPU and GPU architecture and functionality, as well as a broad understanding of various industry‑standard bus protocols, such as DDR, PCIe, and USB.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accountable to drive and develop SLT FTR regression infrastructure to test weekly Firmware / Software releases before integration to SLT Test Program
• Preemptively surface complex, novel, and non‑recurring firmware / software issues and drive to resolution to improve SLT Test Program quality and integration time
• Conduct engineering evaluations and analysis to drive closure of production issues
• Influence technical decisions that have a significant impact on final product
• Develop and apply new debug techniques to enhance technical depth in Product and Test Engineering
• May provide technical supervision or mentoring junior engineers
• Upscale overall team capabilities on low‑level system debug for AMD data center product families

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1. Strong knowledge and working experience on X86 architecture, GPU architecture, SoC design and power management features
2. Experience and with a good understanding of post silicon electrical and mixed signal circuitries
3. Familiar with using analyzers and oscilloscopes, and other debug tools
4. Experience with data center infrastructure is a plus
5. Strong and effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with geographically distributed product engineering teams
6. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
7. Software programming and scripting proficiency (C, C++, Java, Perl, Ruby, Java, Python)
8. Proficiency in Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS/MS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or comparable disciplines
