Topside Engineering Manager (FPU)

Responsibilities:

• Manage and control engineering execution for topsides design based on project design specifications, scope of work and budget.
• Develop, manage and control execution of engineering design for topsides based on MDR, activities plan and engineering schedule.
• Prepare and issue engineering project management deliverables as assigned by Engineering Project Manager.
• Review and manage manpower, resources and expertise requirement and allocation for project for topsides design.
• Establish, monitor and report on engineering design progress for topsides engineering design.
• Manage engineering design progress report from Discipline Lead, review and provide inputs and advises summary and action plan needed.
• Manage interface and communication between Discipline Leads and topsides engineering subcontractor.
• Manage, monitor and report progress of topsides engineering subcontractor to ensure the engineering execution in accordance with contract scope of work, schedule and budget.
• Manage and coordinate project specifications requirement, information, design deliverables and design input from internal and external stakeholders and topsides engineering subcontractor for execution of engineering design for topsides.
• Manage and control Topsides 3D model engineering execution and 3D model review with Discipline Leads and 3D Lead.
• Manage and control engineering design development and design review with internal Disciplines, Client, Class and Engineering Subcontractor for topsides engineering design.
• Work closely with Discipline Leads to ensure implementation engineering design development and review in accordance with procedures.
• Manage and participate in clarification meeting with internal and external stakeholders for design input/design output or comments for engineering design for topsides.
• Manage and control procurement engineering execution and interface with Disciplines Leads, procurement department, Vendor and Client.
• Manage and control Class interface with Disciplines Leads, Class and Client.
• Work closely with Engineering Project Manager to provide report of project progress and project budget including equipment and material budget for design.
• Manage engineering technical query, design change, variation order, etc. with Discipline Leads, Client and Engineering Subcontractor.
• Participate in technical meetings with Disciplines, Client, Statutory or Class and Engineering Subcontractor s to review on the status of the completed project activities including changes.
• Responsible for Topsides scope Management of Change with internal and external stakeholders including raising Technical Queries, Technical Notes or Decision papers as relevant.
• Participate in engineering related commercial meeting with internal and external stakeholders if required to provide technical clarification.
• Works closely with engineering multi-discipline Leads including production/ non-production departments to ensure engineering team is providing necessary and appropriate required technical support.
• Report and record of project risk and lesson learned from the project.
• Support project audit and project close-out plan, reviewing action plans, documentation and solutions are appropriate for further process improvement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering or related engineering disciplines, Diploma holders with relevant experience are welcomed to apply
• Minimum 20 years in offshore oil and gas project managing topsides design works
• Able to liaise with internal and external parties;
• Able to plan, execute and strategize engineering execution;
• Able to comprehend the strategies, work methods, processes and systems in overall project execution and engineering execution of topsides design;
• Highly competent interpersonal and influencing skills to tactfully and diplomatically manage ambiguity, conflict and uncertainty in a culturally diverse environment.
• High awareness of safe working practices associated with design, construction, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning of an oil and gas facilities.
