Technical API Lead

Job Description & Requirements

Job Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with a team of developers to design algorithms, workflows, and application logic.

• Produce clean, efficient, and maintainable code based on functional and technical specifications.

• Partner with the technical team to implement solutions aligned with business requirements and organizational objectives.

• Verify, test, and deploy applications and system components.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing software to improve performance and stability.

• Gather and assess user feedback to drive improvements.

• Recommend, plan, and implement system enhancements.

• Develop and maintain clear technical documentation for reference and reporting.

• Participate in sprint activities including planning, estimation, review, and task breakdown.

• Prepare and deliver sprint demos to Product Owners, gather feedback, and implement required changes.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (Scrum preferred).

• Experience in software design and development within a test-driven development (TDD) environment.

• Strong proficiency in developing microservices using Java (8/11) and Spring Boot.

• Strong experience building UI/front-end applications using React.js, AngularJS, or Vue.js.

• Solid understanding of API design fundamentals and security protocols (Swagger, OAuth 2.0, JWT).

• Proficiency in writing unit tests using JUnit 5 and Mockito.

• Experience creating integration tests for microservices.

• Hands-on experience with Spring JPA and databases such as MariaDB or MongoDB.

• Experience working with container platforms such as OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Kubernetes.

• Proficiency with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, Veracode, and building deployment pipelines.

• Experience building event-driven/messaging APIs with Apache Kafka is preferred.

• Experience with integration tools such as ActiveMQ, IBM MQ, or Apache Camel is preferred.

• Experience with service discovery tools such as Consul is an advantage.
