Platform Engineer (RHEL), Upto 12k, Hybrid, Bank

We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer (RHEL) to design, build, and manage enterprise Linux server platforms. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, security, and compliance across Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, supporting both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage OS certification, baseline configurations, and system hardening in accordance with security standards
• Test, validate, and deploy security patches to ensure compliance and minimise vulnerabilities
• Maintain OS lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, and configuration standards
• Support large-scale server environments across on-premise and cloud platforms
• Plan and execute VMware ESXi and vCenter patching and upgrades
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell) to improve deployment efficiency
• Support scheduled maintenance activities, including weekend patching when required
• Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation for operational consistency

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7, 8, 9, 10), including server build and lifecycle management
• Proficiency in automation and scripting tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar
• Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Nutanix)
• Good understanding of networking, storage, and IT security fundamentals
• Experience with Red Hat pacemaker clustering
• Hands-on experience with VMware technologies (ESXi, vCenter, clusters, vSAN, HA/DRS)
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, and change management)
