Technical Lead [Backend Systems, JAVA] - WCAN

Responsibilities:

• Design and evaluate scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant systems, incorporating multi-region disaster recovery and ensuring robust data consistency.
• Offer domain expertise and guidance across teams, facilitating cross-functional architectural discussions.
• Convert complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions that align with long-term product and company objectives.
• Develop high-quality, reusable components and establish best practices to enhance efficiency across teams.
• Establish and implement domain-level standards, governance frameworks, and process improvements, including microservice design, observability, and code quality.
• Mentor engineers, promote knowledge sharing, and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Qualifications:

• Holds a Bachelor's degree in Computing, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• Over 8 years of experience in backend system design and development, with a proven record of delivering mission-critical systems.
• Strong expertise in Java or Go, with in-depth knowledge of backend frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, WebFlux), messaging systems (e.g., Kafka), and distributed databases (SQL/NoSQL, Redis, etc.).
• Skilled in designing and scaling large distributed systems with a focus on performance, availability, security, and resilience.
• Capable of defining and implementing engineering standards and technical guidelines at the system or domain level.
• Continuously evaluates and integrates new technologies to enhance systems and processes.
• Anticipates edge cases and long-term impacts, incorporating robustness, observability, and compliance from the design stage.
• Effectively drives adoption of best practices and standards across teams and stakeholders.
• Makes informed, strategic decisions backed by technical expertise and business impact analysis.
