Job Description

Job Description:

  • Provide senior-level technical leadership for offshore oil & gas projects, supporting engineering, design, and execution activities across FEED, detailed engineering, and construction phases.
  • The role focuses on plant layout, 3D model governance, interface coordination, and design assurance to ensure safe, operable, and compliant offshore facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Leadership:

  • Lead and coordinate engineering activities across FEED, detailed engineering, and execution phases.
  • Support the Engineering Manager in planning, technical alignment, and delivery of engineering work scopes.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, EPC contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure design consistency and compliance.
  • Manage technical interfaces between engineering disciplines, vendors, and construction teams.

Plant Layout & 3D Model Management:

  • Lead plant layout, piping, and handling design for offshore facilities including FPSOs and production platforms.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the 3D engineering model throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure designs meet safety, operability, maintainability, and constructability requirements.
  • Propose and evaluate alternative design solutions to optimize layout and execution efficiency.

Design Reviews & Technical Assurance:

  • Organize and lead formal 30%, 60%, and 90% design reviews.
  • Conduct 3D model reviews, virtual walkthroughs, and operability assessments.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support technical risk reviews and constructability assessments.

Construction & Field Engineering Support:

  • Provide engineering support during fabrication, integration, hook-up, and commissioning phases.
  • Support site teams with 3D model deployment, layout verification, and issue resolution.
  • Participate in line walks, site inspections, and technical clarifications during construction.

Tools, Systems & Knowledge Transfer:

  • Utilize industry-standard engineering and 3D visualization tools to support design and review activities.
  • Support internal teams by sharing best practices and standardized engineering methods.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering workflows and project execution processes.

Requirements:

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline (International qualifications with verified equivalency accepted)

Experience:

  • Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience in oil & gas engineering, offshore facilities, or FPSO projects.
  • Proven experience in plant layout, piping, and handling design.
  • Experience working across FEED, detailed engineering, and construction phases.
  • Prior exposure to international EPCs, shipyards, or offshore project environments preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of offshore engineering design principles.
  • Experience with 3D model review and coordination tools (e.g. Navisworks, MicroStation or equivalent).
  • Understanding of offshore safety, operability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to manage technical interfaces and multidisciplinary coordination.
