Job Description

Our client is a leading international provider of data centre design, construction, fit-out, engineering, technical services, and managed solutions supporting mission-critical facilities across Europe and Asia Pacific. As part of its continued expansion across APAC, the organisation is seeking a Regional Finance, Tax & Transfer Pricing Controller to provide regional leadership across finance, taxation, compliance, reporting, transfer pricing, financial planning, and entity management activities. This is a newly created role and will serve as the primary finance and tax lead across APAC.

Role: Regional Finance, Tax & Transfer Pricing Controller (APAC)

About the Role

This newly created role serves as the Regional Finance, Tax and Transfer Pricing lead for APAC, combining regional financial control, tax leadership, transfer pricing governance, statutory compliance, financial analysis, business partnering, and regional expansion responsibilities. The successful candidate will oversee finance and tax matters across Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Australia while providing leadership to the Batam-based Finance Manager and partnering closely with business leaders, auditors, tax advisors, and external stakeholders.

Beyond managing day-to-day finance, reporting, compliance, and tax matters, this role will also support the organisation's regional growth initiatives, including the establishment of new entities, implementation of finance and tax frameworks, and integration of new operations into the Group's reporting and governance structure. The ideal candidate will combine strong regional finance leadership with deep transfer pricing and Indonesian tax expertise, together with the commercial and analytical capability to support strategic decision-making across the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Regional Finance Leadership:

  • Act as the senior finance representative across APAC and key finance partner to the UK Finance Director.
  • Provide financial leadership, governance, and oversight across APAC entities.
  • Support regional business leaders with financial insights and commercial guidance.
  • Develop scalable finance processes and controls to support future business growth.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to regional finance personnel, including the Finance Manager based in Batam.
  • Maintain oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close activities across APAC entities.
  • Establish and maintain effective financial controls, governance processes, and risk management practices across APAC operations.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, analysis, and business updates to the UK Finance Director and Group stakeholders.

Tax Management & TRANSFER PRICING

  • Lead APAC tax compliance activities across Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Australia.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate tax, withholding tax, VAT/GST, dividend remittances, royalty arrangements, interest remittances, and other tax obligations.
  • Serve as the regional owner for Transfer Pricing compliance and implementation of Group Transfer Pricing policies.
  • Review and monitor intercompany transactions, cost allocations, management fees, service agreements, and transfer pricing documentation.
  • Work closely with external tax advisors to minimise tax risk and maintain compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Apply knowledge of tax treaties and international tax regulations to support regional operations.

Financial Reporting & Consolidation

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting activities across APAC entities.
  • Review management accounts, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and financial reporting packs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate consolidation of regional financial results.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify financial risks, trends, and opportunities.
  • Ensure reporting standards remain aligned with Group requirements and corporate governance expectations.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis

  • Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes across APAC.
  • Perform variance analysis and monitor performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Conduct financial analysis and financial modelling to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Support business planning, investment evaluations, and commercial decision-making processes.
  • Monitor cash flow performance and working capital requirements across the region.
  • Support treasury management activities including cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, funding requirements, and working capital optimisation across APAC entities.

Statutory Compliance, Audit &Regulatory Management

  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, statutory reporting obligations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate external audits and support audit activities across APAC entities.
  • Act as the primary finance liaison with external auditors (including EY), tax advisors, regulators, legal advisors, and other professional service firms supporting APAC operations.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory filings and tax-related obligations.
  • Support remediation and corrective actions arising from audits or compliance reviews.

Regional Expansion & Entity Establishment

  • Support the incorporation and establishment of new legal entities across APAC as business expansion requires.
  • Coordinate with external legal firms, company secretaries, tax advisors, auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities during entity setup activities.
  • Establish finance, tax, reporting, compliance, and governance frameworks for newly incorporated entities.
  • Support implementation of intercompany structures, transfer pricing arrangements, and finance operating processes for new jurisdictions.
  • Integrate newly established entities into Group reporting, compliance, audit, treasury, and control frameworks.

Project Finance & Commercial Support

  • Partner with project delivery and operational teams to monitor project costs, margins, profitability, and commercial performance.
  • Support project forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis activities.
  • Provide financial guidance relating to project performance and commercial decision-making.

Finance Systems, Process Improvement& Automation

  • Support ongoing enhancement of finance systems, reporting tools, and business processes.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, governance, and reporting accuracy.
  • Act as the key APAC finance user for Equi2(ERP), ensuring accurate financial reporting, data integrity, system utilisation, and alignment with Group reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and standardisation across APAC finance operations.
  • Support ongoing optimisation, enhancement, and continuous improvement of Equi2 and related finance systems across APAC entities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business, or related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA,CA, ICAEW, or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of progressive finance experience, including regional responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing finance activities across multiple APAC countries.
  • Strong knowledge of Indonesian taxation, including withholding tax, VAT, dividend remittances, royalties, and cross-border transactions.
  • Proven hands-on experience managing Transfer Pricing compliance, policies, and intercompany arrangements.
  • Experience managing statutory reporting, financial consolidation, audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience performing financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
  • Strong understanding of tax treaties, international taxation, and cross-border finance structures.
  • Experience managing external auditors, tax advisors, and professional service providers.
  • Strong Equi2 or ERP and financial systems experience, preferably within multinational environments.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capability.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities across different countries and stakeholders.

ADVANTAGEOUS:

  • Experience within Data Centre, Construction, Engineering, Infrastructure, EPC, Industrial Services, or Project-Based environments.
  • Experience supporting multi-country operations across Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Australia.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementation, finance transformation, automation, systems enhancement, migration, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Previous experience supporting regional business expansion and entity incorporation activities.
  • Experience setting up finance, tax, and compliance frameworks for newly established entities.
  • Experience working with UK-headquartered or European multinational organisations.
  • Experience managing regional finance teams.
