Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Centre Engineer to support our 24/7 data center operations. The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining network systems to ensure high availability and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor alerts and events, escalating issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Troubleshoot and monitor network activity to identify and resolve faults.
  • Isolate and diagnose issues, escalating to higher-level support or vendors as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to address network and system issues.
  • Proactively monitor data center network systems and connectivity to prevent downtime, coordinating resolution with vendors or second-level support teams.
  • Log and submit problem management records, assigning tasks to the appropriate parties in accordance with guidelines.
  • Ensure strict adherence to physical security procedures.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and configuration of network switches and devices.
  • Understand customer issues while maintaining trust and managing expectations.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or PRTG.
  • Knowledge of network devices and basic network troubleshooting.
  • CCNA certification is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Excel functions include macros and pivot tables.
  • Experience or knowledge of data center operations is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
