WHY THIS ROLE?
KONE is seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the Senior Contracts & QS Manager in driving strong contract management, commercial governance, and financial performance. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the Front Line with comprehensive contract reviews, commercial advice, and effective management of variations and claims, ensuring risks are identified, profitability is maximized, and KONE’s business interests are protected.
You will also be responsible for supporting progress claims and collections, ensuring adherence to KONE’s credit policies so that risks are managed appropriately, payments are made promptly, arrears are minimized, and receivables are professionally collected in a timely and structured manner.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Contracts Management
• Assist Frontline and Sales teams in contract review and negotiation, ensuring all sub‑contracts comply with KONE’s contract guidelines and corporate policies.
• Provide commercial and contractual advice to Frontline and Sales teams.
• Manage contract and claim matters, including Variation Orders (VO) and VO Enablers.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of contractual issues (e.g., scope changes, extension‑of‑time events), and manage filing systems for all contractually and financially relevant documentation.
• Support Project Managers and project teams in converting opportunities into profitable Variation Orders.
• Proactively prevent, identify, and resolve contractual issues between KONE and customers, including supporting dispute resolution.
• Draft simple contracts, agreements, and formal letters as required.
Claims and Collections
• Prepare, submit, and manage claims, including variation claims, to ensure positive WIP and successful negotiation outcomes.
• Maximize receivable cash flow and support the establishment of strong collection processes in line with KONE’s policies on receivables, payment terms, provisions, retention, and asset protection.
• Ensure timely payments to and from KONE and ensure all required notifications to third parties are properly issued.
• Support management in handling collections and dispute-related matters.
General
• Ensure all work complies with relevant quality, safety, and environmental standards.
ARE YOU THE ONE?
Education: Relevant Technical and/or commercial degree / diploma.
Experience:
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveyor, contracts administration or relevant area
• Familiar with local conditions of contract, such as PSSCOC, SIA, SOP Act, etc
• Fluent level of English, additional languages are a plus
