Job Description:
• Product Transfer: Execute engineering activities for the transfer of exact manufacturing setups, assembly processes, and qualification/acceptance test processes from global sites (Goettingen, Boulder, Hamble) to ESG for Hermes and Artemis projects, under the guidance of the Engineering Manager.
• Engineering Documentation Transfer: Receive and analyze incoming engineering technical datapacks for existing products (Hermes and Artemis) and generate BOMs, drawing revisions, and related documentation.
• Production Support & Troubleshooting: Provide engineering support to SEMI/laser production lines for Hermes and Artemis projects. This includes designing and fabricating assembly and test jigs/fixtures, troubleshooting product failures, performing root-cause analyses, and resolving issues that affect order fulfillment.
• New Product Introduction (NPI): Support NPI projects for new SEMI/laser products developed locally and globally (Goettingen, Boulder, Hamble) by accurately and efficiently transferring all engineering collateral, technical datapacks, BOMs, CAD/detailed drawings from source sites to ESG data repositories such as SAP and SharePoint.
• Tolerance Analysis: Conduct tolerance analyses of components and assemblies using GD&T and stack-up tolerance methods, as requested by the Engineering Manager.
• Project Support: Assist in planned project tasks, organize design reviews (PDR & CDR), perform DFMEA/PFMEA risk analyses, and support other activities assigned by the Project Manager or Engineering Manager.
• Safety and Environmental Assessment (SEA): Participate in SEA and other important/milestone project meetings as required.
• QEHS/Customer Compliance: Support project activities to ensure compliance with internal QEHS policies/procedures (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, AS9100D) and customer QLTCS requirements. Participate in internal/external audits and implement or update procedures to maintain full compliance.
• Cross-functional Technical Support: Provide technical support to Process Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and external suppliers for product specifications, technical drawings, and product-related issues.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum two years’ experience as a Design, Process, or Manufacturing Engineer in the Semiconductor or Precision Engineering industries.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software.
• Strong expertise in GD&T and stack-up tolerance analysis.
• Good manufacturing excellence mindset to deliver high-quality, cost-efficient, and on-time products.
• Knowledge and experience in Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Test (DFT) principles of opto-mechanical assemblies from prototypes to mass production.
• Experience with FMEA and relevant Six Sigma methodologies.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Standards (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, AS9100D).
• Basic understanding and experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
