Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and support database environments including Oracle, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL
  • Perform database installation, configuration, migration, upgrade, backup, recovery, and patching activities
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize database efficiency and availability
  • Support project implementation and provide database deployment activities based on project requirements
  • Perform database health checks, preventive maintenance, and routine monitoring
  • Implement change requests, Service Requests, and database-related operational tasks
  • Work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, vendors, and customers for issue resolution and project delivery.
  • Ensure database security, access control, and compliance with company policies
  • Follow up with vendor/product support for database-related incidents and technical issues
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational reports
  • Support after-office-hours maintenance or project activities when required

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years relevant working experience in database administration
  • Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate (OCA) or equivalent database certification is preferred
  • Hands-on experience in Oracle, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL database administration
  • Experience in database backup, recovery, performance tuning, patching, and troubleshooting
  • Familiar with Linux and Windows server environments
  • Knowledge of database security, high availability, replication, and disaster recovery concepts is an advantage
  • Good troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Able to manage daily support tasks and meet SLA requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Candidate must be flexible for after-office-hours support or project activities when required
