Job Description
Purpose:
The Regional Finance Manager (APAC) is responsible for ensuring the financial integrity and regulatory compliance of our Asia Pacific operations. By leading a dedicated regional accounting team, you will oversee the transition from local statutory requirements to global reporting standards.
Responsibilities, Knowledge & Abilities:
1. Regional Controllership & Reporting
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing process for all APAC entities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to IFRS/US GAAP and local standards.
- Review and approve journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany settlements.
- Consolidate regional financial results and prepare the "Record-to-Report" (R2R) package for Global HQ.
- Manage external audits across the region, serving as the primary point of contact for audit firms.
2. Tax Compliance & Strategy
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of Corporate Income Tax, GST/VAT, and Withholding Tax (WHT) across APAC jurisdictions. Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with local tax laws and changes in regulations.
- Assist in maintaining Transfer Pricing documentation and ensuring intercompany transactions align with regional policies.
- Monitor tax incentives and ensure the company remains eligible for local tax grants or schemes.
3. People Leadership
- Directly manage, mentor, and upskill a regional finance team, fostering a culture of technical accuracy and accountability.
- Standardize accounting workflows across different countries to drive efficiency.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage the workload distribution within the accounting function.
4. Governance & Internal Controls
- Maintain a robust internal control environment (SOX or equivalent) to mitigate financial risk.
- Review and update regional financial policies (e.g., T&E policies, procurement-to-pay workflows).
- Ensure all regional entities remain in good standing with local corporate secretarial and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 10+ years working experience in progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a regional capacity within APAC
- MNCs
- Minimum 5 years of experience in leading Finance related projects or Process improvement initiatives
- Sound understanding of accounting principles
- Understanding and experience of treasury operations, liquidity, cashflow and various financial instruments
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accountancy, Finance or related discipline with professional qualifications (CPA or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (US GAAP, IFRS)
