Innovation Manager- Industrial Product Development

Lead and execute product and process innovation initiatives aligned with business and regional strategies, driving development from concept through full-scale production to deliver measurable operational and financial outcomes in industrial manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement product and process innovation roadmaps in collaboration with stakeholders to align with business and regional strategies
• Lead cross-functional teams to develop new products, formulations, equipment, or processes from concept through full-scale production, ensuring systematic progression through development stages
• Drive feasibility studies, prototyping, pilot trials, validation, and site scale-up to ensure successful commercialization
• Ensure designs comply with safety, quality, reliability, durability, hygiene (where applicable), and lifecycle cost requirements
• Apply design-for-manufacturability, cleanability, serviceability, and cost principles to optimize product and process outcomes
• Collaborate with global R&D, engineering, quality, operations, and supply chain teams to coordinate innovation projects across business units and global plants
• Support localization efforts, supplier qualification, and technology transfer initiatives to facilitate market adaptation and operational readiness
• Engage customers, OEMs, and partners to define application needs and develop compelling value propositions
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards such as GMP, ISO, and HSE to maintain operational integrity
• Track and report innovation KPIs including return on investment (ROI), time-to-market, capital expenditure (capex) impact, and operational performance to measure success and inform decision-making

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, Electrical, or related field) with demonstrated knowledge of 3D additive manufacturing
• 7–12 years of experience delivering product or process innovation within industrial manufacturing environments
• Proven ability to lead development projects from concept to production, ensuring successful commercialization
• Experience working across ASEAN and/or global manufacturing environments to manage cross-cultural and cross-functional collaboration

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Industry experience in polymers, food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, machinery, or energy sectors
• Familiarity with standards such as GMP, ISO, IEC, API, ASME, or food safety regulations to support compliance and quality assurance
• Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies to drive operational excellence
• Experience in sustainability, energy efficiency, or decarbonization initiatives to contribute to environmental goals
• Strong commercial and lifecycle cost mindset, including capital expenditure (capex), operational expenditure (opex), and total cost of ownership (TCO) considerations
• Cross-functional and cross-cultural leadership skills to effectively manage diverse teams and projects
• Structured project management and risk-based decision-making capabilities to ensure timely and successful project delivery
• Strong understanding of industrial 3D additive manufacturing and process-driven environments to innovate effectively
