Job Description
Job description
We are actively seeking an erudite, analytically rigorous, and strategically adroit investment professional to assume a pivotal mandate within our APAC investment committee. This multifaceted role requires a sophisticated practitioner who can seamlessly bridge the operational methodologies of top-tier public accounting with the aggressive, value-creation imperatives of buy-side private equity. The incumbent will be instrumental in orchestrating complex cross-border transactions, specifically targeting the South Korean market, and driving post-merger integration (PMI) initiatives from our Singapore nucleus.
This position is not merely transactional; it demands a holistic custodian of capital who can synthesize granular financial forensics with macro-strategic oversight, whilst navigating the intricate cultural and regulatory nuances of both the Singaporean and South Korean financial ecosystems.
[Key Responsibilities]
• Deal Execution & Origination: Spearhead the end-to-end lifecycle of complex cross-border private equity transactions, encompassing preliminary target identification, robust financial modeling (LBO, DCF, precedent transactions), and the orchestration of definitive definitive agreements within the South Korean and broader APAC markets.
• Advanced Due Diligence: Architect and govern exhaustive financial, commercial, and operational due diligence workflows. Translate arcane financial data derived from target entities into actionable buy-side intelligence, mitigating downside risk whilst maximizing enterprise value upside.
• Portfolio Stewardship & Value Creation: Serve as the principal liaison and operational catalyst between our Singapore headquarters and the C-suite executives of our Korean portfolio companies. Formulate and enforce stringent post-investment performance metrics, governance frameworks, and strategic pivot initiatives.
• Cross-Border Strategic Alignment: Navigate the idiosyncratic regulatory, tax, and corporate governance landscapes of South Korea, ensuring that all investment structures and repatriations are optimally architected in compliance with both local and international statutory paradigms.
• Stakeholder Management: Present highly sophisticated investment memoranda to the Investment Committee, articulating quantitative risks, qualitative mitigants, and synergistic rationales with unequivocal clarity and conviction.
[Required Qualifications & Candidate Profile]
To qualify for this highly specialized and demanding role, candidates must demonstrably meet the following stringent criteria:
• Foundation in Public Accounting: Must possess an impeccable professional pedigree with foundational tenure at a globally recognized "Big 4" public accounting firm (PwC, EY, Deloitte, or KPMG). Specific experience within Deal Advisory, Transaction Services (FDD), or Corporate Finance is absolutely critical to demonstrate the requisite baseline in financial forensics and GAAP/K-IFRS intricacies.
• Buy-Side Private Equity Expertise: A demonstrable, multi-year track record functioning strictly within the Private Equity or Alternative Investment arena. The candidate must have hands-on experience in managing the full continuum of the investment lifecycle, from initial deal origination and structuring to ultimate exit velocity.
• Linguistic & Cultural Competency (Bilingual Strict Requirement): Unimpeachable linguistic proficiency in both English and Korean (Native or Near-Native fluency) is an absolute, non-negotiable prerequisite. The role demands the ability to draft complex financial documentation, conduct aggressive negotiations, and present nuanced strategic arguments seamlessly in both languages to interact with South Korean conglomerates (Chaebols), SMEs, and institutional stakeholders.
• Academic Excellence: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related quantitative discipline from a globally globally recognized university is required. Furthermore, an advanced postgraduate academic credential (e.g., Master’s Degree, MBA, Master of Science in Finance, or equivalent) is highly preferred and will be viewed with significant distinction during the evaluation matrix.
• Technical Acumen: Elite-level proficiency in advanced financial modeling, coupled with a deep, intuitive understanding of cross-border tax implications, capital structuring, and corporate restructuring methodologies.
