AUTOMATION ENGINEER

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is an on-site contract role for a Control System Engineer based in Singapore. The Automation Engineer will be responsible for Testing and Commissioning of Allen-Bradly (Rockwell) Control Logix (CLX) System for a FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) Project. Currently the control system is under commissioning on the vessel (ship) at the shipyard.

Daily tasks include

• Testing of the PLC hardware
• Troubleshooting PLC related technical issues
• Engineering and modification of existing program and SCADA (FactoryTalkView) as required
• 3rd party system integration via Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA
• Collaborating with engineering teams and project manager to ensure smooth and on-time commissioning of the control system.
• The role may also involve assisting electrical team for aspects related to automation systems

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of strong expertise in Engineering, Testing and On-Site Commissioning of CONTROL LOGIX (CLX) system.
• Hand-on experience on FTView, Historian, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA and Asset Center.
• Preferable to have FPSO experience, not mandatory.
• Good understanding of Control system and Electrical Integration.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Bachelor or Diploma degree in Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Strong written/verbal English language skills are required.
• Strong customer handling skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Six (6) months contract role which is expected to further continue based on the performance and the project status
• Normal Working hours - 10 hours/daily
• Normal Working days - Monday to Saturday
• Overtime shall be applicable for extended working hours or working on holidays.
• Transportation to the shipyard shall be provided from particular pickup point.
• Normal Annual and Medical leave shall be applicable.
