Senior/Electrical Engineer

This role blends technical design, hands-on troubleshooting, and project leadership, with a clear pathway for future departmental leadership.

You will play a key role in designing, developing, testing, and integrating electrical systems for complex engineering projects across military and commercial environments. The ideal candidate is technically strong, collaborative, and demonstrates potential for future managerial responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical systems using tools such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
• Act as Technical Lead for selected projects, coordinating electrical, mechanical, and network engineers.
• Perform system analysis, simulations, and validation to ensure safety, reliability, and performance.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
• Document designs, processes, and technical specifications clearly and accurately.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems into larger platforms or systems.
• Diagnose system faults, conduct troubleshooting, and propose design improvements.
• Select electrical components based on performance, cost, and sustainability considerations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., SS638, SS555).
• Conduct system testing, debugging, and verification.
• Liaise with Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) for design endorsements and approvals.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Prior experience as Project Engineer, Technical Lead, or Supervisor is required.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuit theory, and power distribution.
• Passion for designing electromechanical systems for both defence and commercial applications.

Preferred (Nice-to-have):

• Experience with transformers, actuators, PLCs, microcontrollers.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-461 / MIL-STD-464.
• Experience in PLC & HMI programming (Siemens, COMFILE, or equivalent).
• Knowledge of SNMP, BACnet, or ROS 2.0.

Career Progression:
Candidates with stronger experience may be considered for a Senior Electrical Engineer role.
