Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2 / Level 3 operational support for enterprise infrastructure systems across multiple locations.
  • Support and maintain Windows Server environments, including but not limited to: Active Directory and Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, WINS, File and print services
  • Configure, implement, and support enterprise infrastructure components including: Domain Controllers, Microsoft Exchange (on-premises and hybrid), Database Availability Groups (DAG), Client Access Services (CAS), Network Load Balancing (NLB), Failover clusters, IIS, WSUS, SCCM, and related Microsoft System Center components
  • Support email and collaboration platforms, including Exchange (2007–2016), Office 365, Postfix, Zimbra, and Google Workspace.
  • Execute and support domain and mail migration activities, including cross-domain and version upgrades.
  • Administer and support endpoint security platforms, including Symantec and McAfee EPO.
  • Support virtualisation platforms, including VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, and KVM.
  • Provide operational support for Linux-based systems, including RedHat, SUSE, and FreeBSD, and related services such as Apache, Squid Proxy, and Samba.
  • Perform infrastructure automation and monitoring using PowerShell, batch scripting, and related tools.
  • Support patch management, central deployment tools, and automation frameworks to ensure compliance and system stability.
  • Perform network-level troubleshooting involving TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewall rules, VLANs, and related services.
  • Monitor infrastructure health and performance, investigate incidents, and support root cause analysis.
  • Support post-implementation warranty periods following system go-live.
  • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and configuration records.
  • Work within defined incident, change, and problem management processes to meet service level agreements.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in enterprise system engineering or infrastructure support roles.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server platforms (NT through 2016 or later).
  • Demonstrated experience administering Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and Office 365 environments.
  • Experience supporting large server estates and high user volumes across multiple locations.
  • Strong working knowledge of virtualisation technologies, including VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Working experience with Linux operating systems and common infrastructure services.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and firewall concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience in infrastructure automation and scripting, particularly PowerShell.
  • Experience operating within SLA-driven, customer support environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-aligned operational processes.
  • Experience working within both Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
  • Professional Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA – Windows Server), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE – Server / Productivity / Cloud), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA-Junos), Linux Professional Institute (LPI Level 1) are preferred.
