Job Description

Role Overview

The Senior Engineering Manager / Assistant Manager will lead engineering support activities for shipbuilding and marine projects. The role focuses on technical design review, tender support, engineering planning, and coordination with clients, classification societies, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful execution of shipbuilding and conversion projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to marketing and commercial teams to retain existing clients and support business development activities.
• Assist commercial newbuilding and ship repair teams in tender exercises for newbuilding and vessel conversion projects.
• Review contract documents, technical specifications, and equipment requirements to ensure design compliance.
• Develop basic design concepts aligned with newbuilding tender requirements.
• Prepare drawing schedules and coordinate technical meetings with clients, classification societies, designers, vendors, and system integrators.
• Plan and execute engineering production activities for awarded newbuilding projects.
• Interpret classification society rules and maritime regulations during project execution.
• Review and interpret design drawings to ensure compliance with engineering and regulatory requirements.
• Work independently and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in marine, shipbuilding, or offshore industries.
• Good understanding of shipbuilding processes and project lifecycle.
• Ability to review technical specifications, engineering drawings, and design documentation.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and manage engineering coordination activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin to liaise with regional stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to Indonesia, Taiwan, and other countries for technical meetings.
