Job Description

The Cloud Engineer isresponsible for the hands-on migration of on-premise virtual machines andinfrastructure workloads to Microsoft Azure. This role supports migrationexecution, validation, troubleshooting, and post-migration stabilization underthe guidance of the Technical Lead.

In addition, the roleoperates within a managed services environment, ensuring operational stabilityby proactively monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents acrossinfrastructure and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

VM Migration Execution

·        Perform hands-on migration of virtualmachines from on-premise environments to Azure using Azure Migrate and relatedtools.

·        Support migration activities includingdiscovery, assessment, replication, testing, and cutover.

·        Execute migration strategies such asrehost (lift-and-shift) and assist with replatforming where required.

·        Conduct validation testing to ensuresuccessful migration and workload functionality.

·        Support post-migration stabilization andperformance tuning activities.

·        Troubleshoot migration-related issuesacross compute, storage, and networking layers.

Cloud &Infrastructure Operations

·        Provision, configure, and manage AzureVirtual Machines and related infrastructure components.

·        Support Windows and Linux serveradministration in both on-premise and cloud environments.

·        Assist in configuring hybrid networkingcomponents (VPN, ExpressRoute, DNS, etc.).

·        Support backup, disaster recovery, andhigh availability configurations.

Technical Support &Incident Management

·        Resolve incidents and service requestswithin agreed SLA timelines under general supervision.

·        Monitor systems proactively and identifyissues before service impact.

·        Investigate, analyse, and troubleshoottechnical issues across infrastructure environments.

·        Maintain accurate and timely updates inticketing systems with resolution details.

·        Escalate complex issues to seniorengineers or Technical Leads where required.

Service Delivery &Process Compliance

·        Ensure adherence to ITIL processesincluding Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

·        Support change implementation anddocument all activities accordingly.

·        Contribute to continuous serviceimprovement initiatives and operational efficiency.

·        Participate in disaster recovery testingand operational readiness activities.

Collaboration &Knowledge Sharing

·        Work closely with Technical Leads,architects, and cross-functional teams to support migration and operationalactivities.

·        Share knowledge and document solutionsfor common issues.

·        Support junior engineers where requiredand contribute to team knowledge base.

Required Skills & Qualification

·        3–5 years of experience in ITinfrastructure implementation and support.

·        Hands-on experience with Azureinfrastructure and migration projects.

·        Strong skills in:

-        Azure administration (VMs, storage,networking)

-        Azure Migrate

-        Windows and Linux server administration

-        Networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, VPN)

-        PowerShell scripting (basic tointermediate)

·        Experience in VM provisioning,troubleshooting, and infrastructure operations.

·        Exposure to enterprise IT environmentsand migration projects.

Qualifications & Certifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in IT, ComputerScience, or related field (or equivalent experience).

·        Preferred certifications:

-        Microsoft Certified: Azure SolutionArchitect (Expert)

-        Microsoft Certified: Azure AdministratorAssociate

·        Other cloud or infrastructurecertifications are advantageous.
