Job Description
Job Purpose
The Locum Pharmacist provides professional oversight and supervision of pharmacy operations to ensure ongoing compliance with the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) requirements, including the maintenance of the company’s Controlled Drugs Licence and support future applications for licences with HSA that require a pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & Compliance
• Provide professional pharmacist oversight in accordance with HSA regulations, including the Poisons Act and Misuse of Drugs Act (where applicable).
• Support compliance related to the Controlled Drugs Licence, including record-keeping, storage, and accountability requirements.
• Review and verify controlled drug registers, inventory records, and related documentation during visits.
• Advise the company on regulatory compliance matters and best practices when required.
Professional Oversight
• Perform periodic on-site visits at a frequency agreed upon with the company (typically once weekly or less frequently).
• Be available for consultation on pharmacy-related matters within the scope of professional practice.
• Assist with audits, inspections, or regulatory queries from HSA, where required.
Documentation & Reporting
• Endorse or review relevant controlled drug documentation as required by regulation.
• Highlight any compliance gaps or corrective actions to management in a timely manner.
Working Arrangements
• Hourly-rated role
• On-site presence on an agreed schedule (once a week or less frequently, at the discretion of the pharmacist and business needs)
• No fixed working hours outside agreed visits
Requirements
• Registered Pharmacist with the Singapore Pharmacy Council (SPC)
• Valid Practising Certificate
Other Information
• This role is non-exclusive and suitable for pharmacists holding other primary employment or locum engagements.
• Engagement terms and schedule are flexible and subject to mutual agreement.
