about the role

The Group CFO will lead the finance function across multiple business units and legal entities within a property, and engineering conglomerate, acting as a key strategic partner to the CEO and Board.

This role carries full responsibility for financial governance, listed-company compliance, stakeholder management, and leveraging finance to drive sustainable business performance in a capital-intensive, project-driven environment.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a high-accountability, fast-moving environment, with strong exposure to board-level engagement, banking relationships, SGX regulatory requirements, and large-scale construction project financing.

Key Areas:

  • Explicit CEO & Board advisory role (listed-company board dynamics)

  • SGX compliance emphasis (anticipation, disclosure readiness)

  • Banking relationships & project financing (local banks, contractors, project lenders)

  • Oversight of multiple BUs / legal entities

  • Building a stable and high-performing finance leadership team

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership and direction to the Group’s finance and accounting function, including financial control, reporting, treasury, tax, and group consolidation across property, construction, and engineering divisions

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board, providing clear financial insights, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations for both operational and project-level decisions

  • Oversee group-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning across multiple business units and large-scale construction projects

  • Ensure robust financial governance, internal controls, and compliance with statutory, regulatory, and SGX requirements

  • Lead monthly and quarterly financial reviews, management reporting, and disclosures to senior management, Board, and investors

  • Manage group consolidation and reporting across multiple entities and operating units, including project accounting oversight

  • Work closely with project and business leaders on financial evaluation, funding assessments, due diligence, and tax structuring (without involvement in day-to-day project accounting)

  • Oversee treasury, cash flow planning, and financing activities, including construction project financing and strong working relationships with local and regional banks

  • Serve as the primary finance liaison with auditors, tax agents, legal advisors, regulators, and external stakeholders

  • Drive continuous improvement of finance systems, processes, and controls, including ERP optimisation, project-cost reporting, and data-driven insights

Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance, Accountancy, or related discipline, with a recognised professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)

  • Experience in senior finance leadership roles, ideally within property, or engineering related listed group environments.

  • Strong exposure to SGX-listed company requirements, including board reporting, disclosures, and governance standards

  • Experience managing banking relationships, project financing discussions, and liquidity planning, particularly with local banks and project lenders

Why This Role:

This is a rare opportunity to join a well-established property, and engineering group that has navigated a challenging cycle and is now positioned for stability and growth. The CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of the organisation, with real authority, influence, and visibility at the highest level.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Strong, proactive engagement with the Board and CEO

  • Improved anticipation and management of SGX and regulatory requirements

  • Strengthened banking confidence and stakeholder trust

  • Finance function positioned as a strategic enabler, not just a control function, with a focus on project profitability and sustainable growth
