Job Description

About Bitdeer Bitdeer is a world-leading technology company for Bitcoin mining and AI cloud. Bitdeer is committed to providing comprehensive Bitcoin mining solutions for its customers. Apart from designing industry-leading ASIC chips and manufacturing mining rigs, the Group handles complex processes involved in computing across the value chain. This includes equipment procurement, transport logistics, datacenter design and construction, equipment management, and network and facility operations. Bitdeer also offers advanced cloud capabilities to customers with a high demand for artificial intelligence. Headquartered in Singapore, Bitdeer operates globally with a diversified 3 GW energy portfolio, and deploys Bitcoin mining and HPC datacenters in the United States, Bhutan, Norway, Canada, Malaysia, and Ethiopia. What You Will Be Responsible For • Responsible for the full-process design, optimization, and implementation of medium and low voltage (10KV~400V) power distribution systems in data centers. This includes system planning, electrical construction drawing preparation, and selection of power distribution equipment, ensuring the system operates safely, efficiently, and complies with relevant standards. • Proficient in common data center power distribution architectures (e.g., UPS redundant architecture, power distribution board architecture, and medium and low voltage substations). Capable of independently completing overall distribution system design, load calculations, and solution validation. • Responsible for design and review of electrical layout plans, tray systems, and busbar systems. Ensures rational planning of cable routes, tray layouts, and busbar installations, considering feasibility, maintenance convenience, and space utilization, accommodating the high-density distribution needs of the data center. • Responsible for lighting system and emergency lighting system design in data centers. This includes planning for standard lighting, maintenance lighting, and emergency evacuation lighting, as well as illumination calculations and power distribution design, ensuring compliance with relevant data center and fire safety regulations. • Design of grounding and lightning protection systems. This includes designing reliable grounding networks, lightning down-conductors, and surge protection devices tailored to data center operations to avoid electrical faults caused by lightning or poor grounding, ensuring the safety of IT equipment and the power distribution system. • Responsible for the power distribution design of firefighting systems, including power arrangements for fire pumps, smoke exhaust fans, and fire alarm systems, and dual power transfer design to ensure reliable power supply for firefighting systems in accordance with fire safety codes. • Responsible for harmonic filtering and reactive power compensation design for power distribution systems, optimizing power quality, reducing line losses, addressing harmonic interference, and ensuring power factor compliance for the operation of high-precision equipment in the data center. • Perform short circuit current and load calculations, using the results for selection and setting of protective devices such as circuit breakers and fuses. Ensure proper coordination of the power distribution system’s protective measures, minimizing safety risks due to short circuits or overloads. • Coordinate with construction units and equipment suppliers to carry out technical clarifications, oversee on-site construction, and resolve technical issues related to medium and low voltage power distribution during construction. Ensure quality and progress control during the construction phase and participate in the testing and acceptance of the power distribution systems. • Strictly adhere to national and industry standards (e.g., GB 50174 "Code for Design of Data Centers", GB 51348 "Standard for Electrical Design of Civil Buildings"). Candidates familiar with NEC codes and UL standards will be given preference, ensuring all design deliverables are compliant. • Develop operation and maintenance plans for power distribution systems, identify and resolve potential risks and electrical faults during operation, optimize system parameters, and ensure 24/7 uninterrupted power supply to the data center. Assist in organizing and updating technical documentation and design drawings. How You Will Stand Out • Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering and Automation, Power System Automation, Power Distribution Engineering, or related fields. • Minimum 5 years of experience in medium and low voltage power distribution design/operation and maintenance. • Prior experience in large-scale data center projects (≥1000 racks) is preferred. • Proficiency in the design, operation, and maintenance of 10KV~400V medium and low voltage power distribution systems, with deep understanding of common data center power distribution architectures. • Ability to independently complete...
