Key Responsibilities
· Lead the design and architecture of automation systems using Rockwell and Siemens PLC, HMI, SCADA, and drive solutions
· Own end-to-end automation execution: design, programming, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and handover
· Define and enforce automation standards, best practices, and reusable libraries
· Lead legacy system migrations (PLC-5 / SLC to ControlLogix) and integration of new systems
· Review and approve PLC, HMI, and network designs developed by project teams
· Provide installation, commissioning, and on-site troubleshooting support for in-house and third-party systems
· Conduct system validation: testing, debugging, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and documentation
· Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, OEMs, and vendors
· Mentor and guide senior and junior engineers; perform technical reviews and knowledge sharing
· Support proposal preparation, pre-sales activities, project planning, and risk management
· Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, safety, and industry standards
· Maintain effective customer communication to meet project requirements and ensure satisfaction
· Control Panel Expertise: Experience in design, troubleshooting, and commissioning is a plus
Job Requirements
· Education: Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering
· Experience: 13–19+ years in industrial automation and control systems, preferably with Rockwell platforms
· Technical Skills:
- PLCs: PLC-5, SLC, MicroLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix
- SCADA/HMI: RSView32, FactoryTalk ME & SE, WinCC, PCS7, Wonderware
- Drives: PowerFlex 700/753/755, Kinetix Servo Drives
- Networking & Protocols: Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, DH-485, RIO, Modbus
- FactoryTalk: AssetCentre, Historian, Batch, IAB
- OT cybersecurity and industrial networking knowledge is a plus
· Work Environment: Willingness to work at local and overseas shipyards, offshore sites, adapting to varied conditions over extended periods
· Soft Skills: Strong leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, collaboration, and customer communication. Ability to manage scope, variation orders, and customer negotiations
