Finance Business Partner (1 year contract | Gov Sector) DT

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business units and project managers to review financial performance and provide actionable insights.
• Support decision-making through financial analysis, forecasting, scenario modelling, and business case evaluations.
• Drive cost optimisation initiatives and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
• Manage budgeting processes, including allocations, virements, and ongoing budget monitoring.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of reports and reconciliations.
• Prepare accruals, grant documentation, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant policies.
• Support project teams with purchase order management, fixed asset tracking, and financial advisory.
• Participate in system enhancements, process improvements, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Requirements & Technical Skills

• Degree in Accountancy, ACCA, or relevant professional qualification with at least 5 years of relevant experience, including business partnering or commercial finance exposure.
• Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and business case evaluation skills.
• Experience working in a technology-driven or fast-paced environment is preferred.
• Proficient in Workday for financial reporting and budget management.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling, Power Pivot, and Power Query.
• Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI; knowledge of Python or SQL is an advantage.
• Strong stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
