CyberSecurity Operations Engineer/ Specialist (Permanent)

About the Role

We are seeking a Cyber Security Operations Specialist to support the operation and maintenance of cloud and on-premise security systems. This role focuses on monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and leading a small team to ensure secure and reliable day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations & Maintenance

• Monitor, maintain, and support security systems such as firewalls, endpoint protection, antivirus, and IDS/IPS

• Perform routine health checks and ensure security tools operate effectively

Incident Response

• Support identification, investigation, and response to security incidents

• Provide first-level troubleshooting and prepare incident documentation

• Liaise with technology vendors for escalation and resolution when required

Vulnerability & Patch Management

• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments

• Coordinate and perform patching activities to address security risks

Audit & Compliance Support

• Prepare logs, reports, and documentation for internal and external security audits

• Ensure systems comply with security best practices and applicable standards

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with IT, cloud, and network teams to implement security controls

• Lead and guide a team of engineers in Day-1 and Day-2 operational activities

Documentation

• Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation on security procedures, incidents, and system status

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• At least 5 years of experience in cyber security operations, maintenance, or IT security roles

• Experience in leading or guiding a technical team

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

• Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks

• Good communication skills (written and verbal)

• Team-oriented with a customer service mindset

• Hands-on experience in at least one cyber security domain such as:

  • Endpoint Protection

  • Network Security

  • Identity and Access Management (IAM)

Certifications & Additional Skills (Advantageous)

• Professional cyber security certifications (e.g. CISSP or equivalent)

• Experience with container security and key management solutions
