Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
• Lead electrical design and engineering works, including preparation of calculations (e.g., voltage drop, short circuit analysis, load schedules), single-line diagrams (SLD), schematic drawings, and technical documentation.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams (e.g., ACMV, BMS, architectural, civil) to resolve technical issues and ensure effective design coordination.
• Conduct site inspections and technical reviews, including evaluation of method statements and risk assessments, to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submissions, and as-built documentation to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and project teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and continuous improvement.
• Monitor project progress and performance, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective measures to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
• Utilise and coordinate BIM models, participate in clash detection, and ensure proper integration of electrical systems within the overall project design.
Requirements
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in electrical design and project execution (construction/building services preferred).
• Good knowledge of electrical systems and local codes/standards (e.g., power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, SS standards).
• Experience in project coordination and site supervision, including working with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit (BIM) and MS Office, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
