Job Description
Halliburton Wireline and Perforating technology team is actively seeking a dynamic Electrical/Electronic Engineer to join our Technology Team in Singapore. This role requires on-site work and presents an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong technical background in the oil & gas industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical/Electronics Engineer for downhole data acquisition and well intervention equipment design.
- Analyse system & subsystem requirements, identify features, break down task lists and provide schedule estimations
- Actively participate in and execute the electrical/electronic design solutions for data acquisition, communication & motor control hardware, wiring harness management, heat dissipation management, etc..
- Continuous improvements for existing electrical/electronic design.
- Actively involve in design verification and validation activities
- Be responsible for board hardware bring up and testing, product system level integration, and product environment qualification.
- Work with multi-functional team members (SW, FW, HW & ME) to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Involve in the design and fabrication of jigs and fixtures for engineering test as well as manufacturing support.
- Prepare and deliver project status reports regularly to various stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor junior engineers as needed.
- Contribute to Halliburton's Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions.
Required Expertise:
- Prior experience in the oil & gas sector is preferred, with knowledge and expertise in electrical controls, power systems and electromechanical systems.
- In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with analog circuitries such as low noise amplifiers, filters, etc., and power electronic circuitries such as DCDC converters and linear regulators.
- Ability to design and implement solutions using fundamental circuit theory and concepts.
- Proficiency in circuit simulation tools such as LTspice, Pspice, etc
- Experience with debugging analog and power converter circuitries using oscilloscope, multimeters and analyzers.
- Hands-on experience in the design of high-temperature electronic systems, encompassing component selection, qualification, and PCB assembly practices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, P&IDs, flow charts, and cause-and-effect diagrams
- Proficiency in common PCB design CAD tools, with the ability to comprehend circuit functionality through schematic analysis
- Understanding of PCB layout practices to minimize noise, reflection, crosstalk, and ground bounce.
- Capable of drafting comprehensive engineering documents, including design specifications, test plans, test procedures, and user manuals
- Familiarity with engineering tools and methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DoE), etc.
- Familiarity with sensor analog front interfaces and basic concepts of sensor calibration.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with ADC, DAC, LDO, and switching power supply topologies.
- Microcontroller FW programming and FPGA will be a plus.
- Ability to use AI to facilitate analysis and problem solving process is a plus
Qualification Requirement:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline. Master’s degree with similar capacity is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of work-related experience. Candidates with extensive work experience and comprehensive skill sets may be considered for principal or advisor positions.
