Systems Engineer (Windows Server, Unix/Linux, VM)

Responsibilities:

1. Windows Server Management:Install, configure, and maintain Windows server operating systems (Windows Server 2012/2016/2019).
   Administer Active Directory, including user and group management, Group Policy, and domain services.
   Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server configurations for efficiency.
   
2. Unix/Linux Environment:Deploy, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, etc.).
   Manage user accounts, file systems, and permissions in a Linux environment.
   Implement system upgrades, patches, and security enhancements as required.
   
3. Virtualized Environment:Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or KVM.
   Deploy and manage virtual machines, including provisioning, resource allocation, and performance tuning.
   Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtualized environments.
   
4. Networking and Security:Configure and troubleshoot network services such as DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
   Implement firewall rules and access controls to ensure network security.
   Collaborate with security teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in systems and infrastructure.
   
5. Scripting and Automation:Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation tasks.
   Develop scripts and automation workflows to streamline routine system administration tasks.
   Implement configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) to manage infrastructure as code.
   
6. Documentation and Compliance:Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
   Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR).
   Participate in audits and assist in the remediation of findings related to systems and infrastructure.
   

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems engineering or administration roles.
• Strong knowledge of Windows server operating systems, Active Directory, and related services.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux administration, including shell scripting and package management.
• Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles.
• Relevant certifications such as MCSE, RHCE, VCP, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator are advantageous.
