Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of enterprise network infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing connectivity across the organisation’s IT environment.

This role is ideal for individuals with strong technical knowledge in networking technologies, cybersecurity practices, and infrastructure operations who are passionate about delivering stable and secure network services.

Key Responsibilities

Network Design & Implementation

  • Implement and support LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud networking solutions
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and related network devices
  • Implement network segmentation including VLANs, subnets, and VPN solutions
  • Support SD-WAN and hybrid cloud networking deployments where applicable
  • Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams and technical documentation

Network Operations & Maintenance

  • Monitor network performance, availability, and utilisation
  • Perform routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and patch management
  • Manage IP addressing services including DHCP, DNS, and IPAM
  • Ensure redundancy and failover mechanisms are operational
  • Maintain backup configurations and recovery procedures

Security & Compliance

  • Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network access controls
  • Implement secure remote access solutions including VPN and Zero Trust access models
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation activities
  • Ensure compliance with organisational security policies and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor security logs and investigate network-related security incidents

Troubleshooting & Support

  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity and performance issues
  • Provide support for network-related incidents and service requests
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and recommend preventive improvements
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cybersecurity teams

Network Optimisation

  • Analyse network performance metrics and recommend improvements
  • Optimise bandwidth usage and Quality of Service (QoS) policies
  • Support network upgrades, expansion projects, and capacity planning
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, inventories, and operational documentation
  • Document configurations, procedures, and implemented changes
  • Prepare periodic performance, incident, and compliance reports
  • Update operational runbooks and knowledge base articles

Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or related field
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, PCNSA, NSE, or equivalent will be advantageous

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure support
  • Hands-on experience with networking technologies and protocols including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPN, and VLANs
  • Experience with enterprise network and security devices such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds or eG Enterprise
  • Knowledge of firewall administration, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and cybersecurity best practices
  • Exposure to cloud and virtualisation platforms such as VMware and Nutanix is an advantage
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Working Conditions

  • May be required to perform after-hours maintenance or support activities
