Network Engineer – L1

The Network Engineer L1 will provide first-level monitoring and support for enterprise network infrastructure. The role focuses on incident handling, basic troubleshooting, monitoring, and escalation of network issues across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, and security environments, following defined procedures and SLAs.

Responsibilities:

Provide L1 support for LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and basic SD-WAN issues

Monitor network alerts and performance using monitoring tools

Handle incident tickets, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate when required

Assist with basic routing, switching, and connectivity issues

Support firewall and network security incidents at a basic level

Perform routine checks on network devices and links

Assist with Wi-Fi user connectivity issues

Follow ITIL processes for incident and change management

Update tickets, documentation, and knowledge base articles

Coordinate with L2/L3 teams for issue resolution

Work in a 24x7 shift environment, including night shifts as required.

Identify and analyze issues related to routing, switching, wireless, and firewall connectivity.

Skill Set:

Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking concepts.

Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing & switching fundamentals.

Familiarity with networking devices (routers, switches, firewalls).

Exposure to network monitoring and ticketing tools.

Basic understanding of Wi-Fi and enterprise networking.

Willingness to learn and follow SOPs.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Good communicationand documentation skills

Ability to work in 24×7 support environments

CCNA

1–2 years’ experience in network support.

Candidates must have cleared CAT 2A.
