Job Description

The Consumer Product Development department is newly formed to house both the Life and Health and General Insurance (Personal Lines) product teams. The Personal Lines team focuses on general insurance products for the individual such as Travel, Home and Personal Accident. As a Product Development Manager, you will work closely with the Product Lead to grow the personal lines portfolio profitably, which will contribute directly to Income’s goals on a company level. You will play an active role in driving product launches, revamps, campaigns and initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating new personal lines insurance products based on business and customer needs
  • Driving end-to-end product launch/revamps collaborating with internal stakeholders e.g., Channels, Marketing, IT, Actuarial, and other product implementation workgroup members
  • Working with underwriting manager on underwriting guidelines for new products or processes
  • Conducting market research and analysis to provide insights on product developments and trends
  • Monitoring and analysing product performance data for new opportunities and improvements
  • Working closely with sales channels to ensure business targets are met
  • Clarifying policy intent and reviewing materials with stakeholders and frontliners

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Banking, Finance, Actuarial Science or Engineering
  • 4 to 6 years of product development experience in the financial industry with general insurance knowledge
  • Insurance certifications such as BCP, PGI, HI and ComGI
  • Possesses a growth mindset, thrives on challenges and views setbacks as springboard for growth
  • Independent and inquisitive
  • Sharp and analytical with an ability to draw insights from logical inferences
  • Collaborates well in a team setting and able to work with multiple stakeholders
