Structural/Product
Designer
Job Summary
We’re looking for a Structural/Product Designer to design innovative, functional, and production-ready packaging solutions. This role bridges creative design, engineering, and manufacturing, translating concepts into well-executed structures that are cost-efficient, durable, and visually compelling.
You’ll work closely with graphic designers, production, suppliers, and clients to ensure designs are not just beautiful—but buildable and scalable.
Job responsibilities
· Design and develop functional, production-ready packaging structures.
· Create accurate dielines and CAD drawings for prototyping and mass production.
· Build and refine mock-ups to test usability, durability, and manufacturability.
· Work closely with design department to ensure artwork integrates correctly with structural designs.
· Liaise with production, prepress, and suppliers to ensure structural feasibility and smooth execution.
· Resolve structural or production-related issues during sampling or manufacturing
· Ensure designs meet requirements for protection, logistics, assembly, and user experience.
· Recommend appropriate materials based on function, cost, and sustainability considerations.
· Support client or internal presentations with clear explanations and physical samples.
Job Skills & Qualifications
Required:
• Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, KaseMake or equivalent structural design software.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials such as paperboard, corrugated, and rigid box constructions.
• Solid knowledge of printing, die-cutting, folding, and assembly processes
• Ability to prepare production-ready dielines with correct tolerances and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams
Preferred:
• Experience in retail, luxury, or experiential packaging design.
• Familiarity with sustainability practices, eco-materials, or value engineering
• Understanding of printing techniques & colour management.
• Basic understanding of graphic design and print production workflows.
• Experience working with printers, packaging manufacturers, or design agencies.
