Job Description

  • Role: Functional Business Analyst/Project Manager

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Business Unit specialists to elicit, review, and analyze business requirements to define detailed functional and non-functional specifications
  • Document "to be" business and operational processes and perform impact assessments based on agreed requirements
  • Monitor and manage risks and issues related to requirements and scope creep to maintain project alignment
  • Transition requirements clearly to System Analysts and validate traceability from functional specifications to business needs
  • Write business functional release notes and contribute to deployment planning
  • Collaborate with GIS to incorporate security requirements into non-functional specifications
  • Facilitate and provide "Train the Trainer" sessions on application enhancements post go-live
  • Maintain and update knowledge base on application features and processes as a subject matter expert
  • Translate business requirements into system integration test scenarios in partnership with Test Manager and Testers
  • Clarify and classify test findings as defects or change requests, performing impact assessments and estimations for project change requests
  • Review test plans and functional test scope with Test Manager to ensure coverage and quality
  • Define and execute project plans and schedules with Technology Delivery teams, Product vendors, and users
  • Track project tasks closely, report status to program managers and stakeholders, and conduct regular project status and working group meetings
  • Monitor project progress, remove impediments, and ensure quality, scope, timeline, effort estimation, and resource management including Business, Contractor, Vendor, and Operations teams
  • Analyze project proposals impacting schedule and budget to meet overall program objectives
  • Identify and schedule program and project deliverables, milestones, and tasks, understanding interdependencies between Technology, Operations, and Business needs
  • Collaborate with Business Project Managers and Technical Delivery Managers to manage stakeholder relationships, including escalation, expectation management, conflict resolution, and scope changes
  • Manage all changes to agreed scope, review impacts on timeline, and secure approvals from Programme Steering Committee or relevant governance forums
  • Prepare investment approval requests and manage program approvals, organizing and facilitating PSC and Project Working Group meetings across regional countries
  • Manage overall program risk profile, track risk aging, handle escalations, change governance, and implement risk mitigation plans
  • Ensure adherence to system development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology and timely delivery of quality artifacts
  • Measure, monitor, and report progress consistently to stakeholders at various organizational levels, implementing communication plans and adjusting schedules as needed
  • Plan and manage processes with key stakeholders to identify requirements for new projects and deliver investment proposals to the Investment Committee

Required competencies and certifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in banking, financial services, or insurance industries
  • Strong business domain knowledge in retail banking and financial services
  • Proven project management experience in technology projects involving customer-assisted channels such as Operations and Contact Centre
  • Ability to perform dual roles as project manager and functional business analyst
  • Experience managing projects involving Operations, Contact Centre, and key banking platforms
  • Strong process re-engineering skills focused on customer touchpoints
  • Retail product knowledge including CASA and secured/unsecured loans
  • Strategic forward-thinking approach with effective communication, influencing, negotiation, and persuasion skills
  • Familiarity with change management processes and project management fundamentals

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience with industry projects such as CTS Lite and EDP related to Singapore cheque clearing for SGD and USD
  • Domain knowledge and experience in regulatory projects with MAS involving cheques
