QC Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for incoming part inspection for machined parts using various types of
• precision measuring instruments (CMM, QV, VHX, Profiling instruments and other
• STD QC tools not limited to vernier, micrometers, dial gauge, etc).
• Responsible for in-Process QC (iPQC) for mechanical assemblies, subsystem and final inspection of SERD’s products.
• Assist QA engineer in-performing external onsite vendor Quality Audits and FA buyoff, where required.
• Assist QA engineer to report/resolve Non-Conformances (NC), quality issue found during inspection.
• Responsible to manage CAR/8D with suppliers/SERD members to close the issues by ensuring ISO-9001 compliance, and customer-specific requirements.
• Assist QA engineer on SERD’s QA and lab’s instrument annual calibration and maintenance.
• Ensure 5S for SERD’s QC lab and ensure On-time Delivery (OTD) for any (ad-hoc) task assigned by team leader or QA engineer.
• Responsible to prepare and compile weekly and monthly IQC/OQC/IPQC reports.
• Assist Operation Leader on incoming material receiving and warehouse inventory.

Requirements:

1. Possess a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or equivalent, preferably minimum 3 years with relevant experience in QC for mechanical parts inspection and familiar with mechanical workmanship standards for inspection of mechanical assembly.
2. Ability to read GD&T mechanical drawings for QC measurements as per ISO2768.
3. Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with both internal teams and external vendors.
4. Proficient in metrology tools (e.g. Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height/Depth Gauge, Profile Projector, Gauge Blocks, Smart Scope).
5. Familiar with quality and problem-solving tools (e.g. 8D, FMEA, QC tools, data analysis).
6. Able to work independently and support continuous quality improvement initiatives
