Financial Business Analyst (Private Equity)

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Business Analyst with strong Private Equity domain expertise to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting technology and business teams. This role will bridge investment, finance, and IT functions to deliver scalable solutions aligned with Private Equity (PE) operations, financial reporting, and investor requirements.

Key Requirements
Business Analysis & Solution Design

• Engage with Investment and Finance teams to gather and translate business requirements into functional specifications
• Analyse Private Equity processes including capital calls, distributions, cash flow forecasting, waterfall models, and LP reporting
• Collaborate with technology teams to design data models, reporting solutions, and workflow automation aligned to PE business logic

Domain Expertise & Validation

• Act as SME for Private Equity lifecycle, fund structures, and financial metrics (IRR, TVPI, DPI)
• Support development teams with domain clarification and ensure alignment with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP)
• Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate financial accuracy and system functionality
• Document current and future state processes; identify gaps and recommend improvements

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Investment, Portfolio Management, Finance, and Technology teams
• Ensure solutions align with investment strategies, compliance requirements, and investor reporting standards
• Support application teams with business context to enhance issue resolution and system adoption

Experience & Domain Knowledge

• 7+ years of experience in Financial Business Analysis within Private Equity, Fund Administration, Investment Operations, or similar
• Strong understanding of PE lifecycle, fund accounting, and financial reporting
• Knowledge of investment metrics such as IRR, TVPI, and DPI

Technical & Functional Skills

• Experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, and business analysis
• Understanding of financial modelling concepts (DCF, valuation techniques)
• Exposure to data, reporting, or financial systems implementation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
• CA / CPA / CFA certifications preferred
