Job Description

Job Summary:
The Jira Solutions Architect (Lead) will define the overall migration strategy, design the new Cloud architecture, and drive the standardization initiative across the organization. This role assesses the current on-premises environment, maps workflows and plugins to Jira Cloud equivalents, and establishes governance, security, and identity frameworks. The ideal candidate ensures consistent reporting across departments and collaborates with stakeholders to consolidate fragmented processes into enterprise-ready templates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the current on-premises Jira environment, including apps, custom fields, workflows, and integrations.
  • Design a Global Template for Jira projects to ensure standardized workflows and reporting.
  • Map existing on-premises plugins to Cloud-equivalent apps or native Jira Cloud features.
  • Define the security and identity strategy, including Atlassian Access, SSO, and SAML integration.
  • Lead the migration strategy and guide teams to adopt best practices for Jira Cloud.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure Jira Cloud solutions meet technical and business requirements.

Core Skills & Qualifications:

  • Deep expertise in Jira Cloud vs. Jira Data Center capabilities and limitations.
  • Hands-on experience with JCMA (Jira Cloud Migration Assistant) or equivalent migration tools.
  • Strong strategic design skills to consolidate fragmented workflows into standardized schemas.
  • JCMA/CCMA tools, handling user migration errors, database mapping, Shared schemes: workflow, issue type, and field configuration
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills for engaging technical and business stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of enterprise governance, compliance, and security frameworks.
