Regional MES Implementation Engineer

Our client is a multi-national organization with global manufacturing sites.
This role is a bridge between the digital world of software and the physical world of manufacturing. As a Regional MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Implementation Engineer, you will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and optimizing digital systems that track and control the transformation of raw materials into finished goods across multiple sites.

Position Summary

The Regional MES Implementation Engineer serves as the technical lead for the rollout of MES solutions across the region. You will work closely with plant managers, IT teams, and production staff to translate operational needs into technical configurations, ensuring that data flows seamlessly from the shop floor to the enterprise level.

Key Responsibilities

• System Deployment & Configuration: Lead the end-to-end implementation of MES modules (e.g., electronic Batch Records, OEE tracking, Quality Management, Inventory) at various regional manufacturing sites.

• Process Mapping: Analyze existing "as-is" manufacturing workflows and design "to-be" digital processes that improve efficiency and data integrity.

• System Integration: Configure interfaces between the MES and other layers of the tech stack, including Level 2 (SCADA/PLC) and Level 4 (ERP like SAP or Oracle) systems.

• User Training & Support: Conduct workshops and training sessions for site-level operators and administrators to ensure high system adoption.

• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Provide Tier 2/3 technical support during the "hyper-care" phase post-launch and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.

• Standardization: Ensure that regional implementations adhere to global corporate standards while accounting for local site nuances.

Qualifications & Skills

Technical Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial), Computer Science, or a related field.

• Experience: Min. 5 years of experience in manufacturing environments, specifically with MES platforms and implementation experience.

• Data Knowledge: Proficiency in SQL databases and understanding of industrial communication protocols.

• Integration: Experience with API integrations and understanding of industry standards for enterprise-to-control system integration.

Soft Skills

• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple timelines across different time zones and locations.

• Communication: Capability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders on the factory floor.

• Problem-Solving: A "boots-on-the-ground" mentality to fix issues in real-time within a production environment.

Working Conditions

Travel: This is a regional role requiring significant travel to various manufacturing facilities.
