Job Description

ROLESUMMARY

The HPC Solution Architect is responsible for designing scalable, secure, and high‑performance computing(HPC) architectures to support advanced research, analytics, and compute‑intensive workloads. The role focuses on end‑to‑end HPC solution design across on‑premises and hybrid environments in mission‑critical and regulated settings.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES

· Design end‑to‑end HPC architectures covering compute, storage, high‑speed inter connects, and schedulers.

· Define HPC standards, reference architectures, and design patterns.

· Evaluate and recommend HPC technologies, platforms, and accelerators (CPU/GPU).

· Ensure integration with enterprise identity, security, monitoring, and network services.

· Support capacity planning, performance benchmarking, and roadmap definition.

· Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and research stakeholders.

· Review and approve technical designs and implementation approaches.

· Support transition fromproject delivery to steady‑stateoperations.

TECHNICALSKILLS & TOOLS

· HPC Architectures: CPU/GPUclusters, InfiniBand, parallel filesystems

· Schedulers: Slurm, PBS Pro

· Storage: Lustre, GPFS

· Operating Systems: Linux(RHEL, Rocky Linux)

· Cloud HPC: AWS Parallel Cluster, Azure HPC

· Containers: Singularity, Docker

· Design Tools: Visio, Draw.io

SECURITY& COMPLIANCE

· Design secure‑by‑design HPCarchitectures.

· Ensure compliance with ISO27001, institutional security policies, and data protection standards.

· Support architecture governance and audit reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS& EXPERIENCE

· Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

· 8–15 years of experience in HPC, large‑scale compute, or research computing environments.

· Strong stakeholder communication and solution design skills.

PREFERRED(GOOD TO HAVE)

· HPC or Cloud Architecture certifications.

· Experience in academic or research HPC environments.

· Exposure to hybrid or cloud‑bursting HPC models.
