Job Description

  • Lead critical MV infrastructure projects
  • Work in a technically strong, execution-driven environment

About Our Client

A Singapore-based power engineering and systems integration organization specializing in medium- and high-voltage electrical infrastructure, delivering end-to-end solutions from engineering and manufacturing through installation, testing, and commissioning. The company is known for its strong on-site execution capabilities, rigorous safety and regulatory compliance, and close collaboration with utilities, consultants, and industrial clients across critical infrastructure, data centres, and industrial facilities. With a focus on reliability, quality, and technical excellence, it plays a key role in supporting Singapore's power distribution and energy ecosystem.

Job Description

  • Lead end-to-end installation works for MV/HV switchgear projects (typically 22kV, 6.6kV, with exposure to 66kV systems), from site mobilization through commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinate installation activities including switchgear erection, cabling, busbar installation, control and protection wiring, and interface with OEMs during FAT, SAT, and commissioning.
  • Support Project Managers by driving installation milestones, progress reporting, and issue resolution on site.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage site supervisors, engineers, technicians, and subcontractors across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Plan and allocate manpower and resources effectively to meet project timelines and site constraints.
  • Act as the senior on-site authority to resolve technical, coordination, and execution challenges.
  • Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring strict compliance with WSH regulations, EMA requirements, SP Group standards, and electrical safety codes in Singapore.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections, toolbox meetings, and ensure full compliance with PTW, RA/MS, and ITP requirements.
  • Ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and client quality expectations.
  • Serve as the primary site liaison with clients, consultants, main contractors, utilities, and internal sales/project teams.
  • Communicate project progress clearly and professionally, managing site coordination issues proactively.
  • Oversee installation tools, testing equipment, and materials, ensuring availability, proper usage, and calibration where required.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience in MV/HV electrical installation and commissioning, with at least 3-4 years in a supervisory or site leadership role.
  • Strong experience with 22kV switchgear installations; exposure to 66kV systems is highly advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of MV/HV system layouts, drawings, protection schemes, and commissioning procedures.
  • Familiarity with Singapore's regulatory environment, including EMA, SP Group standards, and WSH requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead site teams, manage subcontractors, and drive safety, quality, and schedule performance.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. bizSAFE STAR, WSQ Advanced Certificate in WSH, PMP) are advantageous.
  • Valid licenses to work on MV/HV sites in Singapore are a plus.

What's on Offer

You can expect to join a well-established, technically strong power engineering and systems integration organization with a solid track record in delivering medium- and high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects across Singapore. The company is recognised for its engineering depth, strong safety culture, and disciplined site execution, working closely with utilities, consultants, OEMs, and major industrial and infrastructure clients. Team members are given real ownership and trust, with decisions driven by technical competence rather than hierarchy, and supported by experienced project and engineering teams. In addition to a competitive salary package, the role offers long-term career stability, exposure to complex and high-impact projects, and the opportunity to grow within an organisation that values hands-on leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
