Full Stack Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to support the delivery of secure, scalable digital systems. The role involves hands-on, end-to-end development within a structured and security-conscious environment, with a strong emphasis on reliability, performance, and access control.

This position is suited for engineers who are comfortable taking ownership, working in small teams, and delivering production-grade solutions under defined timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack web applications

• Develop frontend applications using React and Next.js (App Router) with TypeScript

• Build backend services and APIs using Node.js / Next.js server-side capabilities

• Design and manage relational database schemas and data access logic

• Implement secure authentication and authorisation, including role-based access control

• Enforce data access rules at the database level where required

• Build responsive, user-friendly interfaces for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices

• Implement document/file handling features with appropriate access controls

• Ensure application performance, reliability, and scalability

• Implement logging, monitoring, and auditability features

• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and delivery activities

• Support system testing, UAT, bug fixing, and production releases

• Produce and maintain technical and operational documentation

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of professional software development experience

• Strong hands-on experience in full-stack web development

• Proven experience with:

  • React

  • Next.js (version 13+ / 14 preferred)

  • TypeScript

• Solid experience with Node.js-based backend development

• Strong experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases

• Experience designing and implementing:

  • Role-based access control (RBAC)

  • Secure session management

  • Audit logging

• Experience deploying and operating applications on AWS

• Good understanding of web application security best practices

• Familiarity with performance optimisation techniques (caching, query optimisation, CDN usage)

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in small teams

• Experience delivering systems within fixed timelines

Preferred / Advantageous Experience

• Prior experience working with Singapore Government agencies, statutory boards, or public sector organisations

• Familiarity with government security, compliance, or audit requirements

• Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments

• Experience with PostgreSQL Row Level Security (RLS) or equivalent data access controls

• Exposure to search functionality, content-heavy systems, or document management platforms

• Experience working in Agile / sprint-based delivery models
