Senior System Engineer

Job Description 

·      The Senior System Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and operational oversight for enterprise server and infrastructure environments. 

·      This role involves maintaining system stability, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting service operations, and collaborating with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clients to deliver reliable and secure IT services.

 Key Responsibilities

·      Provide technical support for the maintenance, patching, monitoring, and overall upkeep of server systems, including Microsoft, Nutanix, and Citrix platforms. 

·      Assist in managing compliance-related activities to ensure adherence to regulatory, security, and internal governance requirements.

·       Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve system and infrastructure issues, minimizing service disruption and downtime. 

·      Support day-to-day service requests and change management activities, ensuring timely, efficient, and high-quality delivery. 

·      Manage IT equipment inventory, including asset tracking, lifecycle management, condemnation, and disposal processes in accordance with company policies. 

·      Coordinate with vendors and clients on system deployments, infrastructure refreshes, upgrades, and other technical initiatives.

·       Participate in system implementation, operational support, and sustainment (O&S) activities across supported platforms.

·       Provide technical input for system design, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 Qualifications and Skills 

·      Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience). 

·      Technical Skills and Knowledge Strong technical foundation in systems engineering, computer systems, and IT infrastructure; experience in communications technologies is an advantage. 

·      Good working knowledge of system lifecycle management and systems engineering on Windows Server platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft System Center suite of products. 

·      Hands-on experience with the following technologies is required or strongly preferred: Microsoft Server Operating Systems Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) Ubuntu and Red Hat Linux Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)

·       BeyondTrust Privileged Identity/Access Management (PIM/PAM) RSA Security Appliance Splunk SolarWinds Tenable Vulnerability Management System (VMS) Veeam Backup & Replication Ansible Automation Platform Experience

·       At least 1–3 years of experience in the Information Technology industry, with exposure to Microsoft, Nutanix, and/or Citrix system implementation, project management, and operations & support (O&S). 

·      Experience performing project management tasks, handling technical challenges, and working with users and vendors to define business requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
