System Info Security Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an Information Security Engineer to support the monitoring, investigation, and enhancement of cybersecurity controls across corporate systems. The role involves working closely with Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs), internal stakeholders, and technology vendors to detect threats, respond to incidents, and implement modern endpoint and security solutions to strengthen the organisation’s security posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with vendors and MSSPs to monitor and analyse security logs, alerts, and indicators of compromise (IOCs)

• Support security investigations, incident response, alert handling, and compliance activities

• Enhance and customize security tools and detection capabilities

• Analyse internal and external threat intelligence to improve prevention and detection strategies

• Prepare security alerts, dashboards, and threat reports for stakeholders and management

• Build strong working relationships across IT, security teams, and external partners

• Contribute to security best practices, documentation, and collaboration frameworks

• Research emerging endpoint security technologies such as EDR, DLP, and secure web solutions

• Support end-to-end implementation of cybersecurity tools including requirements gathering, vendor coordination, technical reviews, and deployment

Job Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience in information security, security operations, or cybersecurity engineering

• Hands-on exposure to security monitoring, incident response, and log analysis

• Familiarity with endpoint security technologies (e.g., EDR, DLP, web security tools)

• Understanding of threat intelligence and attack detection methodologies

• Experience working with vendors, MSSPs, or third-party security service providers

• Ability to document technical requirements and support security solution implementation

• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred (Advantageous) Skills

• Experience with SIEM tools and security automation platforms

• Knowledge of compliance frameworks and governance practices

• Familiarity with network and endpoint security architecture

• Exposure to cybersecurity market research and solution evaluation

• Relevant security certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, CISSP, GIAC)
