Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Claims Management: • Gather and compile all necessary supporting documentation, such as project schedules, daily reports, correspondence, and progress records. • Formulate robust arguments and justifications for delays, demonstrating contractual entitlement. Variations Management: • Identify and assess potential variations (changes in scope, design, or conditions) to the contract. • Prepare detailed variation proposals, including scope descriptions, cost estimates, and time impacts in collaboration with site scheduler and relevant engineers. • Ensure all variations are properly documented, approved, and incorporated into the project contract. • Negotiate variation orders with stakeholders to secure fair compensation and time adjustments. Contractual Compliance: • Provide expert advice on contractual matters related to claims and variations. • Ensure all claims and variations are processed in strict accordance with the project contract terms and conditions. • Maintain accurate and organized records of all claims, variations, and related correspondence. Documentation & Reporting: • Develop and maintain a systematic approach to claims and variations documentation. • Prepare regular reports on the status of claims and variations for project management and senior leadership. • Draft formal letters, notices, and other contractual communications. Risk Management: • Proactively identify potential risks and opportunities related to claims and variations. • Implement strategies to mitigate risks and protect the company's interests. Collaboration: • Work closely with project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, and legal teams. • Provide training and guidance to project staff on claims and variations procedures. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. A Master's degree or legal qualification is a plus. • Minimum of 8 years of experience in claims management or contract administration within the construction industry. • Proven track record of successfully preparing, submitting, and negotiating claims and variations on large-scale construction projects. • In-depth knowledge of PSSCOC and construction law principles. • Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, and delay analysis techniques.
